Ramshila Cottage

Project Overview

Perched on a steep ridge in Nainital, Ramshila Cottage features a stunning heated infinity pool that seems to float above the valley. The pool was designed to complement the colonial stone architecture of the cottage while providing a modern, luxurious amenity. A sophisticated heating system ensures the pool can be enjoyed year-round, even during the snowy winters of the Himalayas.

The Challenge

The steep terrain and limited access made material transport and excavation extremely difficult. Additionally, the cold climate required a highly efficient heating and insulation solution to prevent heat loss and minimize energy consumption.

The Solution

We utilized a lightweight composite structure to reduce the load on the ridge and employed a custom geothermal heating system paired with an automated thermal cover. This allows the pool to maintain a comfortable temperature of 28°C with minimal energy usage.
